Our History

Microsigma Capital Management LLC opened its first office in 2006 in Miami, FL and promptly began servicing clients in the Naples, FL area as well.  The firm was born as the result of many in-depth discussions on the relationship between risk and return between Brice Dupoyet, a Finance professor at Florida International University, and Flavio Carrillo, a former financial consultant at Legg Mason.  From its earliest days, the firm and its owners have been focusing on the management of assets with low volatility in mind.  This serves as a means to an end in achieving superior long-term performance and providing clients with a less volatile investment vehicle.  Together, Brice and Flavio began testing portfolio selection models, eventually settling on those portfolios aiming for the most optimal return attainable within a targeted level of volatility.  Thus was born Microsigma Capital Management LLC, a fitting name considering its philosophy.  The name combines the words "micro", as in small, and "sigma", meaning standard deviation, a measure of volatility.
